SPECIAL PROJECTS CASE STUDYNew Product Development - MedicalPurchasing Services Co. (PSC) helped a fast-growing medical company review a potential new product. Our client was trying to determine if it was feasible to manufacture a new device that an inventor had brought to them. They needed to quickly estimate the cost of over 90 sub-components to determine if a license to produce the product was worth negotiating with the inventor. Not having drawings of the sub-components that needed to be produced complicated the process. Our customer produced rough sketches of the components in question, and we located suppliers, determined estimated prices, and suggested manufacturing methods for the components. PSC provided our basic assumptions for the sub-components manufacturing methods, with pricing included. This allowed the customer to fine-tune the estimates without having us involved with every discussion. Because we are not connected to any external source, PSC is not biased by vendor "sales pitches". Since we work for you, PSC has no need or incentive to withhold information about the best methods to manufacture the components. |
