TEMPORARY SERVICES CASE STUDIESManufacturingCase #1Purchasing Services Co. (PSC) contracted to provide consulting to a Purchasing and Inventory Control department, including how to justify staffing to management. These discussions lead to a request for an experienced, temporary electronics buyer. A PSC temporary was placed at the worksite, and was eventually hired as a permanent employee by the customer. A subsequent request from this customer, required PSC to place an individual, identified by the customer, on PSC payroll and maintain them as a temporary through the customer's probationary employment period. Upon successfully completing the probationary period, the customer hired this temporary as a permanent employee. The customer requested a third person on an "as-needed" basis. We were able to place someone who was available and interested in working an erratic schedule. This satisfied the customer's unusual need and provided continuity in the department. Case #2A rapidly growing manufacturing company had created a new position within their purchasing department. This customer had developed a job description and they needed to fill the position ASAP. This position was temporary-to-permanent. We faxed resumes to the customer and PSC put the interview process into motion. PSC filled the position in the time frame required by the customer. |
